For years, my favorite weeding tool has been this one (photo above). I’ve used it so much that I’ve significantly worn the prongs down. Its thinness means that I can push it deep into the ground to pry roots out without too much disturbance of other plants nearby, and it is strong enough that it doesn’t bend with effort.
This may not be exactly what I have, but it’s certainly similar: https://www.amazon.com/Garden-Guru-Dandelion-Weeder-Ergonomic/dp/B093QSVKLT
Then when I was at a holiday party last year, I won this (photo below) as a door prize. It will also go deep, but the curve means that I can get underneath things that I’m trying to pull out and expose more of their deep roots. I think this is my new favorite weeding tool.

It’s called a CobraHead weeder and mine is the smallest of the family (others have longer handles): https://www.cobrahead.com/mini-weeder-cultivator/
