Rewilding My Lot

Converting a new developer lot into a nature ecosystem — my journey

A Non-Specific Spring Update

I have several projects in process at the moment and I’ll post about them when I have something to report. So today I thought I’d just include some photos of what I see when I’m outside enjoying breakfast/lunch/tea/whatever. These photos were taken on the morning of March 22, 2024.

The first round of spring blooms are well underway — at the moment they are primarily Bluebonnets, Indian Blankets aka Firewheels, and volunteer plants. The most noticeable concentration of blooming flowers is in the meadow area in my front lawn.

Elsewhere I see buds on many plants, so having recently had a few rainy days I wonder if things are about to burst forth soon. In order below, these are Indian Blanket aka Firewheel (I think), unknown volunteer, Red Yucca, volunteer sunflower, Desert Willow, and Rock Rose.

And here is the overall back yard area. These photos don’t easily show that there are isolated plants blooming within that green mass, but I can see them from my patio seat!
