Twice a year, our local chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas holds a plant sale in the context of a city-wide festival so that there are plenty of people out and about.
This year I was actually able to make some contributions to the sale. I had a total of 29 pots (photo above) of Frogfruit (Phyla nodiflora), Fall Obedient Plant (Physostegia virginiana), and Lyreleaf Sage (Salvia lyrata). The latter two were excess at the park where I volunteer and I was able to pot them a few weeks ago and somehow keep them alive.
And although I wasn’t particularly looking to buy plants myself, there were some things that somehow made their way back to my home. I have two things that will go in the “tall” area of the back yard: Cowpen Daisy (Verbesina encelioides), Maximilian Sunflower (Helianthus maximiliani). And two kinds of annual plants that can be added to the front wildflower meadow: Annual Winecup (Callirhoe leiocarpa), Lemon Beebalm (Monarda citriodora).
