Rewilding My Lot

Converting a new developer lot into a nature ecosystem — my journey

Mushrooms!

Decay of organic matter is an important part of my journey to improve soil health in this new development lot. So it’s not at all surprising to see fungi of different types here. They often pop up overnight, stay a few days, and then break down.

I’ve written before about the aptly named Dog Vomit Slime Mold, which is not a true fungus but in the context of my garden, it serves a similar function.

Here are two kinds of mushroom that I see quite often, especially on the woodchip pathways or mulched areas. I am not at all knowledgeable about fungi, so the Genus is about as far as I can get with identification.

Genus Parasola

Genus Agrocybe
