Rewilding My Lot

Converting a new developer lot into a nature ecosystem — my journey

Mexican Buckeye Pot Expansions

I was easily able to germinate seeds from a Mexican Buckeye (Ungnadia speciosa) tree a few weeks ago, and the five young seedlings have quickly grown in their 4-inch pots.

In mid-October, each of the five seedlings was given a 1-gallon pot with planting soil (because they will eventually go in the ground) and some Mycorrhizae to help boost root growth.

I will keep these indoors for now, until the daytime temperature gets to 80F or less (at the time of repotting it was still in the mid-90s). So back to the guest nursery they went (I did the repotting outside).
